the Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Most of Douglas Adams' the Restaurant at the End of the Universe follows his previous characters misadventures through the galaxy in the same way as Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. There is essentially no plot, and the book begins and ends with nothing resembling normal story structures. This book is something more of a stringing together of barely interconnected events. While that might have been a novel, and wholly interesting device in the previous book, its entertainment value wanes here. Perhaps I simply need to take a break, but it seems like I could pick almost any random chapter and read it as opposed to chronological order.

Overall this book is still very enjoyable and very funny. We are introduced to slightly more characters in this book and some amazing and fantastical settings including the title restaurant. Adams' imagination still amazes me. 8/10
